Colorado EVV Launch Set For Aug. 3

The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing has selected Aug. 3 as the "go-live" date for Colorado's Electronic Visit Verification system, mandated for home health and hospice providers by the federal government under the the 21st Century Cures Act.

HCPF said EVV would be linked to the state's Medicaid billing system on Jan. 1, 2021, according to Alik Kassner, HHAC's treasurer, who has been the association's point person on the initiative.

A provider survey of 447 respondents revealed:

  • 49% of providers have not started implementation yet
  • 50% will use state solution, 22% Provider choice systems, 28% undecided
  • 72% will exempt live-in caregivers from EVV, 7% will not, 21% undecided
